the ceremony & reception
The ceremony and reception will be held at The Clifton in Charlottesville, VA on Saturday, May 11th, 2019 at 4:30PM. Dinner and dancing to follow.
Attire is semi-formal (no jeans, no tuxes). Weather permitting, the ceremony and cocktail hour will be outside on the lawn. Dinner and the remainder of the reception will be on a covered back porch and back lawn. Women may want to avoid pointy heels. We will also have full use of the inn, with indoor spaces to mingle and relax.
transportation & Lodging
The Clifton is a short 15 minute drive from downtown Charlottesville, VA and is served by Uber/Lyft. There is ample on-site parking and cars may be left overnight.
We have two hotel blocks at area hotels. Charlottesville is a popular destination and May is a busy time of year, so we encourage you to reserve early. Our room blocks expire on April 10th.
The Hilton Garden Inn is closest hotel to The Clifton and is a quick 3 mile drive to both Downtown and The Clifton. We have reserved 10 rooms at a rate of $179/night plus tax. Please make sure to reserve your room under our block using the link to the right.
The Omni is located on Charlottesville's historic Downtown Mall, just steps from restaurants and shops. It is a 15 minute drive to The Clifton. We have reserved 10 rooms at a rate of $279/night. Our Frontgate, Sur La Table, and Crate and Barrel registries have a variety of home goods that will help us fill our new home (we’re building a house!)
Zola allows us to register for a variety of gifts and experiences like rugs, Airbnb gift cards, board games, a hammock, and contributions towards purchasing larger items like a new couch. On our Zola registry, you'll also see options to donate to some of our favorite charities, including the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation, the Charlottesville Albemarle SPCA, the Triangle Community Foundation, and the Boys and Girls Club of Central Virginia.
