Pardon the dust, work in progress...

My background in photography comes from a lifelong love of the arts. My training comes from unlimited art supplies as a kid, encouragement and teaching from family, and some great childhood art teachers. My Grandmother was a painter, some of her watercolors hang in my house. My Dad always loved photography, his 1970's Olympus was my first SLR. My Mom can sew and make stained glass like no other, and pushed me to make photography a more serious hobby. As a teen, I worked at a "paint it yourself" ceramics shop. I taught adults and kids, made sample pieces, and created several pieces on commission.

Many of the images on this site are photographed with my Nikon D80. Unfortunately, my beloved camera died beyond repair in February 2015. In August 2015, I welcomed a Nikon D750 in to my repertoire. I am excitedly adapting to my camera, and can't wait to see where it takes me.
